Neurotoxins to Avoid

It is a well-known fact that packed foods and drinks contain known additives. Not all of the additives are beneficial to human health; some of the canned food is known to affect the human health drastically. Regardless of the causes of damage to the human health, the regulatory body, FDA, has still not taken any action against the food and beverages which contain these neurotoxins. So, we decided to tell you about some of the neurotoxins which our food contains.

What Happens Because of Neurotoxins?

Neurotoxins are harmful to the body. Firstly, they are mostly synthetically made. Also, some of the well-known effects of having neurotoxins in food and beverages are:

  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Brain fog
  • Depression
  • And can even cause Alzheimer’s disease

So with such drastic side effects of added compounds, one would assume that these would be banned by now right? They are not banned, and they are continuously used in every packaged food and cold drinks. They are mostly added artificial sweeteners and salts which are worse than the natural products. Let us take a look at some of them:


This artificial sweetener is found in every single food. It is said to be better and a replacement of sugar in different sugar-free products. However, it is shown that the addition of aspartame causes the consumer to crave for more sweet food. This is particularly harmful as it could induce diabetes. They are shown to cause ADHD, dizziness and migraines. They do not make you thinner as opposed to what is being said about them. They contain three very harmful brain chemicals: methanol, aspartic acid and phenylalanine, each of which can destroy brain cells thereby causing a neurotransmitter imbalance and are poisonous.


This is added to popcorn to get the taste of butter. Popcorn is one of the most consumed snack food in America. It is harmful to the brain as it can breach the blood-brain barrier and its lumping is the indicator of Alzheimer’s disease. If the packed food contains words like artificial butter or something similar, then it means diacetyl. However, the easiest alternative here is to use natural butter.


Another artificial sweetener but it is not as well known as Aspartame. It has effects similar to aspartame and cause brain fog, migraines and other similar illnesses. However, the chemical is not very popular and assumed to be healthy. It is not so as it can increase the weight of the consumer substantially. It also affects the digestion system by attacking the absorption system in your intestines.


Monosodium Glutamate is something that almost every food contains. It is so universally used that the regulations no longer dictates the mention of the compound in the food. Also, the chemical when changes into glutamate can cause the death of brain cells by the dozen. A good way to understand whether the food contains MSG or not, is by tasting the food. If the food is salty to taste then there are chances that it contains MSG.

The other neurotoxin to avoid is Aluminium. At the end of the day, it is solely depended on the diet and consumption of the neurotoxin that the effects will start to appear. It is advisable to consult a doctor as soon as the symptoms appear.
